چکیده

Until very recently, research in software reliability has divided quite neatly into two usually warring camps: methodologies with a mathematical basis and methodologies without such a basis. In the former view, “reliability” is identified wi+h “correctness” and the principle tocl has been formal and informal verification [ 11. In the latter view, “reliability” is taken to mean the ability to meet overall functional goals to within some predefmed limits [2,3 1. We have argued in [4] that the latter view holds a great deal of promise for further development at both the practical and analytical levels. Howden [5] proposes a first step in this direction by describing a method for “testing” a certain restricted class of programs wh.ose behavior can in a sense Howden makes precise :be ulgebraicized. In this way, “testing” a program is reduced to an equivalence test, the major compc~nents of which become (i) a combinatorial identification of “equivalent” structures; (ii) an algebraic test

Remarks on Testing Probabilistic Processes

We develop a general testing scenario for probabilistic processes, giving rise to two theories: probabilistic may testing and probabilistic must testing. These are applied to a simple probabilistic version of the process calculus CSP. We examine the algebraic theory of probabilistic testing, and show that many of the axioms of standard testing are no longer valid in our probabilistic setting; e...

Persian Handwritten Digit Recognition Using Particle Swarm Probabilistic Neural Network

Handwritten digit recognition can be categorized as a classification problem. Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) is one of the most effective and useful classifiers, which works based on Bayesian rule. In this paper, in order to recognize Persian (Farsi) handwritten digit recognition, a combination of intelligent clustering method and PNN has been utilized. Hoda database, which includes 80000 P...

A Denotational Model for Probabilistic and Nondeterministic Processes

In this paper we present an algebraic model for the description of probabilistic and nondeterministic processes: PNAL (Probabilistic and Nondeterministic Algebraic Language), an extension of EPL, dee-ned by Matthew Hennessy, including a probabilistic choice operator. An operational semantics and a testing semantics for the language are presented. A denotational semantics for the nite subset of ...

Extension of Cube Attack with Probabilistic Equations and its Application on Cryptanalysis of KATAN Cipher

Cube Attack is a successful case of Algebraic Attack. Cube Attack consists of two phases, linear equation extraction and solving the extracted equation system. Due to the high complexity of equation extraction phase in finding linear equations, we can extract nonlinear ones that could be approximated to linear equations with high probability. The probabilistic equations could be considered as l...

Implicational Scaling of Reading Comprehension Construct: Is it Deterministic or Probabilistic?

In English as a Second Language Teaching and Testing situations, it is common to infer about learners’ reading ability based on his or her total score on a reading test. This assumes the unidimensional and reproducible nature of reading items. However, few researches have been conducted to probe the issue through psychometric analyses. In the present study, the IELTS exemplar module C (1994) wa...
